New to Hydra Facial, or deciding when to return? This guide explains what a session involves, what changes you might notice and why a skin assessment from Eve matters before treatment.Â
What is a Hydra Facial?
Hydra Facial is a non-invasive, multi-step facial that combines cleansing, exfoliation, suction-assisted extraction and hydrating skincare. It is intended to improve the appearance and feel of the skin, can help with clearing acne, reduce wrinkles or other skin conditions.
What happens during a session?
At Eve Garrett VIP , the listed appointment time is approximately 60 minutes. Your therapist assesses your skin, discusses your goals and checks your medical history before tailoring the session.
- Assessment and cleansing: your therapist checks suitability and cleanses the skin.
- Exfoliation: surface dead skin cells are removed. Exfoliating solutions like glycolic peel, or enzymes are selected according to your skin and the treatment protocol.
- Extraction: a suction-assisted handpiece called Micro-hydrabrasion helps remove debris from congested pores.
- Hydration and finishing care: hydrating serums are applied, in addition to radio-frequency to lift and tighten and collagen is further boosted with ultrasound wands. Advanced medical grade ingredients are chosen for your skin's needs.
LED light therapy is used throughout. Ask the clinic what your chosen appointment includes and whether any add-on is appropriate for you.
What results can I expect, and how long might they last?
People notice smoother-feeling, more hydrated or brighter-looking skin after one session. These are cosmetic changes, not permanent changes to skin structure or a promise that acne, pigmentation or lines will resolve. For a more permanent solution ongoing treatment plans are recommended.
Hydrafacial's Australia and New Zealand FAQ describes hydration and smoothness lasting around five to seven days, sometimes longer. This is a general expectation, not a prediction for every person or every Hydra Facial system. Your baseline skin condition, treatment choices, skincare and sun exposure can affect your experience.
How many sessions do I need?
There is no fixed number that everyone needs. One session may be a starting point for assessing how your skin responds. A course may be considered after discussing your goals and reviewing progress, but purchasing three sessions does not guarantee a particular result.
The clinic lists monthly treatment as a general maintenance recommendation. Your therapist may recommend a different interval or postponing treatment if your skin is irritated. Returning visitors should mention any new medication, skin flare-up or recent procedure, even if previous sessions were comfortable.
Does it hurt, and is there downtime?
The treatment is generally intended to be comfortable and relaxing, but suction, exfoliation and skincare ingredients can feel different from person to person. Tell your therapist immediately if you feel pain, burning or significant discomfort so treatment can be adjusted or stopped.
Temporary redness or sensitivity can occur. If you are planning around an event, tell the clinic about timing so we can plan to have you look your best on the day.
Is it suitable for acne-prone or sensitive skin?
Acne-prone skin is not the same as active inflammatory acne. Congestion may be a reason to discuss treatment, but inflamed lesions, open acne cysts or infection need assessment rather than routine extraction. Hydra Facial with Eve will be adapted to help heal your skin.
Sensitive skin also needs individual assessment. Tell the clinic about reactions, allergies, rosacea, eczema and any damaged skin barrier. Customisation does not make treatment suitable for everyone; postponement or another approach may be recommended.
When should I consult the clinic before purchasing?
The current clinic offer excludes skin cancer or benign/malignant tumours, photosensitising drugs, infectious skin diseases and eczema in the treatment area. These are the clinic's listed suitability restrictions, not a universal rule for every facial elsewhere.
Contact the clinic before booking if you have sunburn, a rash, cold sores, open wounds, active inflammatory acne, an unexplained skin lesion, significant allergies, or current or recent isotretinoin use. Also disclose recent peels, laser, waxing or injectables so the clinic can advise on spacing.
The offer asks people with pacemakers, implanted defibrillators, neurostimulators, electronic or metal implants, or pulmonary insufficiency to check with their doctor. If you have a pre-existing medical condition, discuss suitability with your GP and the clinic before purchase. Do not stop prescribed medicines to prepare for a facial without advice from your prescriber.
Maintenance and home care
Follow the clinic's personalised preparation and aftercare instructions. Ask when to resume retinoids, exfoliating acids and other active skincare rather than applying a one-size-fits-all timetable. Gentle cleansing, moisturising and daily sun protection can support your routine between visits. Contact the clinic if irritation persists or worsens; seek prompt medical advice for a significant reaction.
